Detailed Introduction:

Located in Campinas Technology Park, São Paulo State, Brazil, this project marks Berbson’s first turnkey cleanroom engineering project in the life science R&D sector in South America. With a total construction area of 11,200 square meters, the facility includes three core functional zones: a gene therapy laboratory, a cell culture room, and a biological sample storage bank.

Berbson provided an integrated solution covering process layout design, material supply, construction, and installation. The project adopted a magnesium oxide rock wool cleanroom panel system together with an anti-static cleanroom flooring system, creating a reliable, compliant, and highly controlled environment for advanced biomedical research.

The facility was designed and built in strict accordance with ANVISA requirements and ISO 14644 international cleanroom standards. The cleanroom achieved classified environmental control from ISO Class 5 core R&D zones to ISO Class 7 support areas, meeting the stringent cleanliness requirements of life science applications.

To meet the extremely high sterility requirements of gene therapy research, the project team optimized the airtightness design and implemented a precise temperature and humidity control strategy, ensuring a stable and dependable environment in critical cell operation areas.

The project successfully passed acceptance by Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency on the first attempt, becoming a demonstration project for biopharmaceutical infrastructure in Latin America. It highlights Berbson’s system integration capability and cross-border delivery strength in delivering high-end life science cleanroom projects worldwide.
